Call or text us to pick your evaluation time

After booking, you’ll be asked a few questions to help us tailor our evaluation and figure out which intake forms to send to you. We will ask you for a deposit in order to hold your appointment slot.

The Evaluation

We’ll complete an individual evaluation with you and your child to determine if there is a need for therapy. If therapy is indicated, we’ll tell you the recommended number of sessions per week and get you scheduled.

Doctor’s authorization and insurance

If you plan on paying with insurance, we may need your doctor’s authorization for an evaluation and we’ll check your insurance benefits to see how much you’re covered for.

How long does an evaluation take?

Typically, evaluations take about an hour. For a myofunctional or feeding evaluation, 1.5 hours is usually the norm. This can vary depending on the age of the child and level of complexity.

How does therapy work?

We will typically recommend 30-minute therapy sessions once or twice a week, depending on severity of the disorder and anticipated parent carryover at home. The last 5 minutes of the session are used as a reward for the child, documentation for insurance, and to explain homework to the family.

How long will my child need therapy?

This is really hard to know- it depends on the child and the complexity and severity of their disorder. Some children need just several months and others sometimes need years. The earlier they are in therapy, the better the outcomes!

What is the cancellation policy?

Same-day cancellations for any reason are permitted twice per month. Cancellations must be made at least 2 hours before your appointment time. More than 2 same-day cancellations per month will result in being charged full price for the session. Cancelling less than 2 hours before your appointment time will result in being charged full price for the session.

If you cancel the day before, up to 3 cancellations total are permitted per month. If you have 3 or more cancellations per month, you will be charged full price for the missed session and are subject to lose your time slot.
